1. Soak hands in clean, warm soapy water for 5 minutes. Use a good cuticles oil or cream to soften cuticles. GENTLY push back cuticles.
-NEVER ever cut your cuticles!! They are there for a reason. They are meant to keep out bacteria that cause infection. Cutting your cuticles usually leads to painful hang-nails and just causes the skin to grow back thicker!
2. Make sure nails are perfectly shaped and all of the ridges are buffed out.
3. Use a quality base coat. I use OPI Ridge Filler when I am using light colors because I have wicked ridges in my nails! :/
4. Start with one even coat or your Cream-White polish of choice and let dry for at least 2 FULL minutes.
5. Add another even coat to your nails and let dry for yes... Another 2-3 minutes.
- If you achieve your desired effect and the polish is not opaque at all then you can stick with just two coats. I always end up doing 3 coats because of my nail condition. And I usually give the second coat quite a bit of time before the third just to make sure it's 100% dry.
6. Use a quality Top Coat to seal in your color and prevent chips your polish. Let dry another 2-3 minutes.
7. Touch up any mistakes with a nail pen or you can use a small stiff paint brush and dip it in acetone to clean up the edges. (These can be purchased at Walmart for cheap and is the easiest technique for me)
