My Daily Skin Care Regimen

Do you wash your face daily? Do you sleep with your makeup on at night? How important is your skin to you?

Well, I am obsessed with my skin. I'm constantly on the look out for that  new special product. I started using anti-aging products when I was 20! Whenever I'm at the store or mall I am automatically drawn to the makeup and skincare section. It just calls to me!!! I'm a sucker for anything that sounds like it's going to improve my skin. (and basically anything that has an infomercial or sold on QVC!) I have literally tried everything under the sun from high-end expensive products to the usual drugstore items. And after years of trial and error I now have my customized daily regimen.  When choosing skin care items it's important to know your skin type first. Normal, Oily, Dry, Acne-prone or Combination. That will help you chose the right products for your specific skin type. Everyone is different so you can't expect that what your friends are using will automatically do wonders for you. Finding what's right for you is quite the process and it definitely takes time and dedication. Unless you're blessed with naturally flawless skin!

All the way through school I had flawless skin.. It was awesome and effortless. But I am one of the unfortunate souls that randomly started suffering from adult acne in my late teens/early 20's. I would obsess over it constantly. It caused major anxiety for me and made me feel super self-conscious. In my line of work this was a damn travesty!! No matter what kind of foundation you use it doesn't make the acne look any better. In my opinion I think caking on the makeup makes it look worse! I was on a mission to find a cure!

Of course we all see those cheese-y Proactive commercials and feel like it's going to be the answer to your prayers. Well... It did not help at all! I continued to use that stuff religiously, hoping that it would kick in sooner or later... It never did. So I continued on my journey to find my holy grail of skincare.  I literally spent thousands trying the best of this and the highest rated that at department stores. I bought everything I could get my hands on at the drugstore. After this menagerie of trial and error, I finally found the specific products that coincided perfectly with each other and turned my dry, dull, acne prone skin to a flawless canvas. I have been using the same skin care products for the past 5 years. Of course I do buy some randoms here and there mostly because I can't help myself but, also because of seasonal conditions, travel, chlorine etc... And sometimes I find that special product that I end up loving so much; I incorporate into my current regimen.
